Amane’s wikia page. Which didn’t mention her past so!

Due to her strong spiritual powers, Amane has been hearing the voices of spirits and demons ever since she was a young girl. This set her up for her upcoming problems and trials.

At some point, her father discovered about God’s ordeal from studying theology at school. In other to prevent the ordeal, he formed a contract with the demon Belberith. Along the way, because of Amane’s high spiritual powers, the demon Jezebel, Belberith’s minion, was placed inside Amane to act as his agent and to grant them some power. In order to grant Belberith more power, her father formed the Shomonkai to worship the demon.

After she graduated from middle school, Amane chose to help her father with the Shomonkai as their maiden instead of going to high school.

About six months prior to the start of the Tokyo Lockdown, the Shomonkai successfully weakened the barrier between Earth and the demon world by defeating Jikoku, one of the four Devas. Amane achieved this with Jezebel’s help, but the stress put her into a coma for a few days. This was done in order to make demon summoning simpler to use, since cult was commissioning Naoya, Kazuya Minegishi’s cousin, to design the Demon Summoning Program.

It was around that time when Remiel, one of God’s angels, hid within Amane’s body in order to learn Belberith’s intentions.

Then, six months later, as the Shomonkai gathered in Tokyo for a meeting, the plot happened.

Personality:
[AMANE]
Mysterious, charismatic and well spoken, that is the impression most people would get when they see Amane for the first time. As the maiden of the Shomonkai and a result of her upbringing, she is kind, calm and polite. Amane doesn’t make jokes or tease people like typical teenagers, preferring to choose her words carefully before speaking and to keep her composure. In short, a teenage girl who seems far more mature and responsible for her age.

She’s a rather private person, preferring to explain things for other people (in other words, expositions) over talking about herself. Most of the things the player would learn about her was from overhearing Amane’s conversations or, primarily, being told of by others, such as Remiel. Amane doesn’t want to trouble people with herself and have a tendency to put others first before her. It’s only when she truly trusts in someone that she opens up and expresses her worries, which only happens in the 8th Day for her route, if Kazuya chose to speak to her during her events.

In the lockdown, Amane would often be seen going around and helping people. She’s altruistic, wishing to help as much as she can and minimise bloodshed. Before Remiel spoke to her, she believed in the Shomonkai’s teachings at first because she thought it’d help save everyone from God’s ordeal. Even if it meant risking her soul by carrying Jezebel within her because she believed it could help. But after hearing Remiel’s words, Amane starts to support the angels’ ideals and plan. It would cause her to go against her father, who supports Belberith, and made her doubt the cult’s ways, but she wouldn’t be deterred. To prevent as much bloodshed and deaths as possible, she betrayed her father by urging Kazuya to be the Messiah in God’s name.

But at her core, Amane’s main motive will always be helping and saving people. Despite supporting the angels in the later half of the Lockdown, Amane can choose to side with Kazuya in the 8th Day of Naoya’s route if he didn’t kill any humans. Even if she initially disagree with Naoya’s plan, Amane can recognise if there’s a better option for humanity in front of her. In contrast, if Kazuya chose to kill humans in the 8th Day of Naoya’s route, she can and will oppose him,

However, she’s not without guilt and her own faults. Amane wishes to atone for defeating Jikoku with Jezebel’s power, making her partially responsible for the lockdown and God’s ordeal to happen. That’s one of the reasons why she listened and agreed with Remiel’s words so readily; if she heard him sooner, Amane wouldn’t have defeated Jikoku or she would’ve done something sooner. But she kept these thoughts to herself, only allowing others to know about them in private.

Between her childhood of hearing spirits (which is something no normal children can do), choosing to give up attending high school for the Shomonkai (basically sacrificing any chance of a social life) and her father’s influence and teaching her to be a stoic, emotionless priestess, Amane lacks experience in socialising and acting like normal girl. She can easily talk as the Shomonkai’s maiden, as it’s a role she was trained for. But when it comes to being a normal girl, Amane wouldn’t know what to do or say. And she was well aware of this shortcoming of hers. It did give her some regrets on missing out, but Amane wouldn’t mind learning if she was given a chance to.

All in all, Amane was very much a well-meaning person who pushed aside her selfishness for the sake of humanity. But she won’t say no to trying out things she was deprived of.

[REMIEL]
As an angel of mercy and thunder (among other things) created by God, Remiel was his creator’s servant and his opinions reflected this. By their nature, angels has no free will like humanity and anything Remiel can speak of were things God desired. He respected humanity’s autonomy, to an literal extreme where he and the angels won’t step in to help humans. Respecting their autonomy means humans can take care of their problems without the angels’ help, and this extended to Remiel watching Amane handle problems without his interference. It’s only in the most extreme cases, or when it’s necessary for him to, that Remiel would step in by possessing Amane’s body, normally with her consent.

But for all his respect for human autonomy, Remiel also believes humanity should reach out and turn to follow God. It doesn’t mean he think any less of them, just simply that as God’s servant without any real free will, he was created to think that’s the best for them. So he’d say to follow God, if the conversation ever turned to it. But he will drop the subject if it’s obvious humans have made their decision and choice of action.

Unless he’s talking to demons, in which case Remiel will be quite wary around them. Due to the sheer number and different types of demons that exist, he won’t be hostile unless they’re evil and otherwise oppose God.

[JEZEBEL]
Cruel and heartless, it’s almost hard to believe (or not that hard at all) that Jezebel used to be a fallen, prideful and selfish queen who directly opposed and spite God. After her undignified death, her hatred for God, desire for vengeance and distant memories from carrying a single fragment of Bel inside her, caused her to transformed into a demon.

While she seek God’s destruction, Jezebel can be forced to submit and recognise someone else as her superior, as well as engaging in wilful backstabbing. She knew that both herself and Belberith shared the same desire to destroy God, and that Belberith’s powers surpasses her. Not only that but in the War of Bel, where there can be only one victor, she knew only one of them will win and and absorb the loser. But when given a chance, such as when Jezebel escaped to the demon world in the 8th Day of Yuzu’s route, she will prioritise herself first and seek a way to become the War of Bel’s victor.

Otherwise, Jezebel’s a demon full of hatred and only concerned herself with God’s destruction. Everything else, living or otherwise, were merely stepping stones. Amane was no exception, who was simply a suitable host for her to use and eventually devoured at her own leisure.

Abilities/Powers:
As a result of her strong innate spiritual powers (providing her with the helpful bonus of hearing demons, angels and spiritual sensitivity), Amane was one of the few people who can summon demons and use magic without a COMP. However, using the COMP lessen the energy strain and make it easier to use both magic and demon summoning, which was why Amane use it for fighting. However, the COMP is only usable as long its battery remained charged.

Otherwise, Amane’s powerful at using magic, but poor at any sorts of physical attacks. Plus, she’s not the fastest among on her feet, making her a slow but powerful magical cannon.
